Today we commemorate the feast day of one of the twelve apostles. He is remembered as the one who doubted the resurrection of Jesus Christ. However, he gives us the most radical confession of the divinity of Jesus: ‘My Lord and my God.’ In the spiritual realm, the journey from doubt to belief is a long one. However, it is not impossible. Thomas made that journey. Faith leads us to wonder, and that wonder is expressed in worship. Through the gift of faith we too are moved into recognizing and believing the presence of God in our experiences. May the Lord Jesus increase our faith, especially in those moments of our lives when it is most convenient to doubt.
