People bringing their children to Jesus for him to touch and put his arms around them make today’s Gospel very heart-warming. But it is disturbing to see the disciples turning them away until Jesus has to stop them. Why would the disciples want to turn away such humble and commendable requests? Jesus, however, welcomes them and says that the kingdom of heaven belongs to them. For us adults, the greatest thing we can do for children is to give them tender love. We must share our faith with our children, pray with them, as well as for them. We must bless them with the sign of the cross on their foreheads as they go off to school and when they come back.
