Moses’ mission ends before he enters the Promised Land. Moses was shown the land over the mountains, but he was not allowed to enter it because he struck the rock twice which indicated his lack of trust in God (Num 20:11). Joshua was appointed to bring the assembly into the land. Moses was a great leader who knew the lord face to face and who worked many signs and wonders. But a moment’s doubt cost him the privilege of entering the Promised Land. God experts our total, unconditional obedience and trust in him.
